Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Everyone at one time or another, has physical problems that get you to a doctor’s office. Just as we need medical attention for physical problems, we also need counseling for emotional problems. Our mind and body work together and if something is wrong within us, it will show in how we think, feel, and behave. For example, if we’re tired and sleepy, our eyes may struggle to stay open and we do not function to the maximum of our ability. The same thing happens when we are not emotionally well, other things start falling apart such as our relationships and our functioning at work or school. This is why it is as important to work with a therapist that you trust for your emotional wellness problems. Elda would be honored to walk by your side as you navigate the problems and challenges that life may bring to you unexpectedly or over the past months or years. If you are reading this, it is likely that you’ve been thinking that you may need to talk to someone, so wait no more. Your emotional as well as your physical health are important to your overall well being and happiness.

If a man insisted always on being serious, and never allowed himself a bit of fun and relaxation, he would go mad or become unstable without knowing it.

Signs that you may need help

  1. Are you often stressed out or worried thinking: “What if something bad happens?”
  2. Do you bite your nails or do you get fidgety with your hands and/or feet?
  3. Do you get easily irritated or moody?
  4. Do you get frequent headaches, stomach aches, neck, or lower back pain?
  5. Are you struggling to get a good night sleep?
  6. Has your appetite changed recently?
  7. Do you feel tired and unmotivated?
  8. Are you engaging in unhealthy or self-harming behaviors?
  9. Are you having problems with loved ones?
  10. Are you having a difficult time concentrating or remembering things?
  11. Do you feel alone, even when there are people around you?

If you answered yes to several of these questions, it may be time to talk to someone about your emotional health.

You are not alone

When you were born, you did not come with a manual or a guide on how to live a happy and a peaceful life. You also came into this world with biological or inherited predispositions, that may have made it harder for you to live a happier and a calmer life. It is in psychotherapy, that you may find the answers to your questions: By gaining insight and awareness into your own thoughts, feelings, behaviors, family patterns, and by stepping outside of your comfort zone, by learning and practicing effective communication skills, and by accepting and reaching out for help, you can shape your life to a closer version of the life that you wish to have. By finding emotional wellness and living a more balanced life, you may find the path to creating a better version of yourself. Use the courage to begin your journey to an emotionally well and better version of you!
